Statement regarding the fatal fire at Collingwood Road

“We are truly saddened by this awful news and our sympathy and condolences go out to the friends and family of these four young children who have tragically lost their lives.

“As a Council, we are supporting the emergency services and specifically want to thank first responders for their work at this hugely difficult time. Our community is grieving today and we stand with them. We are working to help those who have been impacted access the relevant support.

“The Council is working with all of the partner agencies that have supported the family, to assist with the ongoing investigation into this tragedy. In the light of the recent police statement, we cannot comment in more detail at this stage.”
