Vaping has become increasingly popular among young people. While it might seem harmless and fun, the truth is vaping is not risk-free and can be addictive. Vapes are not for young people or non-smokers.
Vaping is substantially less harmful than smoking as you don’t inhale the toxic tar and carbon monoxide you get from tobacco smoke. Nicotine vapes can help adult smokers to quit. But vapes are not harmless and short-term effects can include coughing, headaches, dizziness, and sore throats, while the long-term effects remain unknown.
Yes! Many vapes contain nicotine, which is highly addictive. Anyone who uses nicotine vapes regularly may become addicted and find it difficult to stop. Withdrawal symptoms can be unpleasant, including cravings, irritability, and trouble concentrating. Be smart. Don’t start.
Nicotine vapes are age-restricted for a reason. Selling or buying nicotine vapes for anyone under 18 is illegal in the UK.
Vaping advertisements often use flashy ads and flavours to appeal to young people. Don’t be sucked in!
Vapes should be recycled as electronics. They should not be put into the general waste or recycling bin as vapes contain lithium-ion batteries which pose a fire risk. To safely dispose of your vapes find your closest electrical recycling point. You can use online tools like Recycle Your Electricals to locate one.
By recycling your vapes correctly, you're helping to prevent fires and protect our environment!

‘People think it's a tool to calm down but it's nothing but an escape from what you think is going to be a good thing but it ends up adding to your worries.’
