“We heard last week of the sad loss of three of our borough’s valued members of staff. Two care home workers and one colleague from Sutton Housing Partnership have tragically lost their lives. Respecting the wishes of family and advice from their colleagues, we will say no more than that we grieve their loss and send our thoughts, prayers and condolences to their families.

“We are reminded in these sad moments of the importance of all those who are working to provide care and support to keep our community safe. Their hard work, dedication and willingness to put those they care for first is recognised, highly valued and will not be forgotten.

“I want to reassure everyone that here in Sutton, the Council, our partners and the NHS are working closely together to respond to the Coronavirus outbreak and to ensure that we are taking all possible measures to protect our residents and the people that care for them.

“Sutton Council and all our partners are  working hard to provide those essential services on which we all depend. I pay tribute to all those who are delivering these services at this difficult time and extend my warmest thanks and gratitude to you all.”
