A message from Marcus Rashford about the Holiday Activities and Food Programme:
About the HAF Programme - Information for parents/carers
We are delighted to offer the Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme in Sutton. The programme is funded by the Department for Education to provide free holiday-enriching and physical activities with nutritious meals for children and young people (aged Reception to Year 11) receiving benefits-related free school meals.
The annual programme will cover the spring, summer and Christmas holidays. Eligible families can apply for a total of 16 hours of provision a week. We will run the programme for:
- 1 week during Easter
- 4 weeks during summer, and
- 1 week during Christmas
Eligible families will receive an official eligibility letter via Sutton council and/or an eligibility email via your child's school before each programme. The eligibility letter/email will include a unique code which you will need to use to book online and/or present to the provider upon first day's attendance. Please note that the unique code changes on a seasonal basis i.e. a summer HAF code will not work for a winter HAF.
If your child receives benefits-related free school meals but has not received a unique code via an official eligibility letter or an eligibility email please check your junk mail in the first instance. Thereafter, please email email@example.com with your child’s full name, age, address, school child attends, and proof of FSM eligibility and we can look for the code on the system.
If you have changed your address, you need to inform us of this change to ensure that your letter is sent to the right address in the future. To update your details including a change of address, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are unsure whether your child is entitled to receive benefits-related free school meals please check our website.
To book a provision, please visit the bookings page. Each provider will manage its own booking process and system. Please read the ‘How to Book’ section under each provider. If you have any questions about a provision, it is best to contact the provider directly.
If you have one child receiving benefits-related free school meals and another receiving universal free school meals, both children will be able to access HAF provision. Please discuss this with the provider who will book the younger child onto the provision.
If your child has a special educational need or disability or additional needs then please contact activity providers to learn more about how they can meet the needs of your children and agree to any additional support needed. The HAF team has been working hard to make sure that every eligible child in Sutton has the opportunity to experience HAF, regardless of circumstances, which is why we have been working with a range of providers to accommodate these needs.
