Our sessions have a large emphasis on outdoor, hands-on learning. By nature, these sessions are inclusive.

We welcome groups with special educational needs and disabilities. We are able to adapt our sessions to suit.

Some examples of how we can ensure inclusion:

Wheelchair accessible

  • our classroom has wheelchair access and a disabled toilet
  • the Sutton Ecology Centre grounds are wheelchair accessible including wheelchair-accessible paths 
  • woodland habitat includes a wheelchair-accessible minibeast hunting area
  • two raised ponds that are wheelchair accessible for pond-dipping
  • the sensory garden has wheelchair-accessible beds 

We can adapt Sessions to follow wheelchair-accessible paths.

Special Educational Needs and EAL

We are able to adapt lesson plans to:

  • include more visual and hands-on activities
  • removing or reducing written work such as worksheets
