Since Sutton Council launched the Sutton Hub on 28 March, over 2,000 telephone calls to local residents have been made and 695 food packages delivered to those who let the Council know that they needed support.

60 staff and 50 volunteers have taken on roles as packing assistants, contact centre assistants and food hub drivers.

Cllr Ruth Dombey, Leader of Sutton Council said

“A massive thank you to those who have given their time to help support our Sutton Hub. It’s an incredible effort to have nearly 700 packages delivered to those who need it the most and a testament to the community spirit in the borough.

“We will continue to support residents during this period with our voluntary sector partners - Community Action Sutton, Volunteer Centre Sutton and Age UK Sutton”.

Support and advice can be found on Sutton Council’s COVID-19 webpages. If you or  someone you know needs support, or if you are unsure what support is available, we have set up a dedicated COVID-19 help page.
