Sutton’s vision for growth is taking another step. In recent years, investment in buildings and new developments has already begun to reshape Sutton Town Centre, changing its look and feel.

Today, Tuesday 25 November, marks a significant milestone for young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in Sutton, as a new Preparation for Adulthood Hub, College and cafe officially open their doors at the Sutton Life Centre.

The Council's housing services managed by Sutton Housing Partnership (SHP) have been awarded the highest possible rating of C1 for its social housing after inspection by the Government’s Regulator for Social Housing.

The Regulator of Social Housing conducts comprehensive inspections of social landlords managing over 1,000 homes to assess their compliance against new consumer standards around things such as safety and quality, transparency, accountability, neighbourhood and community.

The Council has closed 316 Malden Road. This means that Cheam Priory Day Centre is unable to run their services from this building.

This week, I met with London’s transport bosses to talk about the need for longer term investment to give Sutton a public transport system fit for the second quarter of the 21st century.
